Strong winds continue to impact Finland’s maritime areas as storm-level gusts reported

Strong winds are expected to continue affecting Finland’s maritime areas on Sunday. On Saturday afternoon, storm-level gusts were recorded in the southern coastal regions. These blustery conditions led to minor damages and power outages in parts of southern and central Finland.

Weather authorities have issued warnings regarding very poor driving conditions in northern areas, particularly in Inari and Enontekiö in Lapland. Central Lapland is also experiencing significant weather challenges along the route from Kolar to Pelkosenniemi. Additionally, drivers in Ostrobothnia, and the regions of North, Central, and South Ostrobothnia, as well as Central Finland and North Savo, are advised to exercise caution due to adverse road conditions.
