The People’s Party hosted its national conference today at Hotel Hafina in Tórshavn, with a key item on the agenda being a speech by the party leader, Beinir Johannesen.

It has been over two years since Johannesen assumed the role of party leader, making this his third address to the members.

In his speech, Johannesen emphasized the concerning trend of young people choosing to pursue education abroad instead of staying in the Faroe Islands. He urged that the political system should take action to address this issue.

He also discussed the educational opportunities available in the Faroe Islands, highlighting the necessity to improve the variety and relevance of educational programs to better meet the needs of Faroese society.

Furthermore, Johannesen touched upon economic policy and the collaborative opportunities that will arise from upcoming elections, which are expected to occur within the next two years.
