Fans camp outside Rokkiklubi Tavastia in Helsinki for Samu Haber’s performances
This morning, an unusual scene unfolded outside the Rokkiklubi Tavastia, with a gathering of fans equipped with camping chairs, blankets, and sleeping bags. Some had camped out overnight in anticipation of Samu Haber’s performances at the venue. The artist, who was formerly the lead singer of the band Sunrise Avenue, has launched a solo career and continues to draw significant crowds. The band, known for their popularity in Central Europe, announced their disbandment in 2020.
Around 15 fans from Austria, Switzerland, and Germany were present outside the club, including one dedicated admirer who claimed to have seen Haber perform 229 times. Despite nighttime temperatures dropping to nearly five degrees Celsius, the atmosphere remained lively.
One of the fans, Lina Höhmann from Germany, shared her passion for Haber, stating that she has lost count of how many times she has seen him live. Over the past 11 years, she has followed both the band and Haber, developing a love for Finland through her fandom. Höhmann has even studied the Finnish language and culture in Germany and participated in a student exchange program at the University of Helsinki last year.
Another fan, Victoria Renhart from Austria, has been following the artist for 15 years and attended concerts in Finland. She appreciates the way music unites fans, describing their group as a tight-knit “family.” Renhart is attending two of Haber’s concerts in Helsinki and emphasized the importance of arriving early, leading her to sleep outside the venue. She looks forward to enjoying the music and celebrating with fellow fans, even contemplating another night outside in anticipation of the Friday concert.
