Súni í Hjøllum continues as mayor of Nes municipality, Atli F. Johansen appointed deputy mayor

Súni í Hjøllum continues as mayor, and Atli F. Johansen has been appointed deputy mayor of the Nes municipality.

The newly elected city council of Nes held its inaugural meeting yesterday evening.

During the municipal elections on Tuesday, the elected representatives include Súni í Hjøllum, Atli F. Johansen, Rannvá í Túni Petersen, Elin á Torkilsheyggi, Henning Erhardsson Joensen, Høgni Hansen, and Niels Jacob Nielsen.

In the meeting yesterday afternoon, the council unanimously agreed to appoint Súni í Hjøllum as mayor and Atli F. Johansen as deputy mayor.

Súni í Hjøllum will also lead the Finance Committee, while Høgni Hansen heads the Technical Committee. Elin á Torkilsheyggi will chair the Cultural Committee, and Rannvá í Túni Petersen leads the Welfare Committee.

The council will officially seat itself during a public meeting scheduled for November 21.
