Susse Wold has experienced the profound loss of her partner of over fifty years, Bent Mejding. Their relationship began in the early 1970s while performing together in the play ‘Privatliv’ at the Youth Theatre. The couple tied the knot in 1983 in Hawaii, an event that had long been a dream for Wold, as recounted by Mejding in a 2018 program.
Their bond was characterized by deep trust, as Wold expressed her confidence in Mejding, likening it to trusting him to pack her parachute correctly before a jump. This trust extended over decades; the couple celebrated their marriage every ten years, having done so three times by the time the program aired six years ago. Mejding humorously noted that he proposed every decade, and fortunately for him, Wold always accepted.
In the program, the couple reflected on their enduring love, sharing anecdotes and insights into their unique relationship.
