Runólfur appointed acting head of Department of Civil Protection at National Commissioner of Police in Iceland

Runólfur Þórhallsson has been appointed as the acting head of the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management at the National Commissioner of Police while Víðir Reynisson is on leave. This information has been confirmed by Helena Rós Sturludóttir, a spokesperson for the National Commissioner.

Víðir is currently leading the list for the Samfylkingin party in the South Constituency for the upcoming parliamentary elections. In the interim, Finnbogi Jónsson will succeed Runólfur as the deputy chief of police for the analysis department of the National Commissioner of Police.
