Nordic police organizations unite against escalating gang violence in region
Nordic police organizations are grappling with the escalating gang violence that originated in Sweden. According to a joint statement from these organizations, the police are struggling to respond effectively and prevent the spread of gang-related issues throughout the Nordic region. The statement was endorsed by police associations from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland.
In their announcement, the organizations highlighted various instances of organized crime across the Nordic countries. Among these cases is a record seizure by the Southeast Finland police, which uncovered 42 kilograms of amphetamines smuggled from Sweden, along with weapons and explosives.
To combat organized crime effectively, these organizations are advocating for increased collaboration and additional police resources in each country, aimed at investigations, patrols, and staffing for police stations. They believe that with more personnel, they can stay one step ahead of gangs and prevent their planned criminal activities.
