The Chief Prosecutor, Joakim Zander, decided to close an investigation at the end of September, stating that there was no basis to suspect any criminal activity. This decision was appealed by two parties, including the organization Näthatsgranskaren, but upon further review, the closure has now been upheld.
“I have reviewed the case and agree with the Chief Prosecutor’s assessment. Therefore, his decision should remain unchanged,” said Mikael Björk, a senior prosecutor at the Prosecutor’s Office Development Center, in a press release.
The initial suspicions investigated were directed at Richard Jomshof, chairman of the Justice Committee, related to two images he shared on social media platform X in May of this year.
