In late September, Chief Prosecutor Joakim Zander decided to close an investigation, concluding that there was no reason to believe that any crime had been committed. This decision was appealed by two parties, including a group focusing on online hate. However, after a subsequent review, the decision to dismiss the case has now been upheld.

“I have reviewed the case and share the chief prosecutor’s assessment. Therefore, his decision should not be changed,” stated Senior Prosecutor Mikael Björk from the Development Centre of the Prosecution Authority in a press release.

The initial suspicions under investigation involved Richard Jomshof, the chair of the Justice Committee, related to two images he shared on social media platform X in May of this year.
