Weather conditions have deteriorated for the Vestfjords and Northern Iceland. The forecast indicates significant weather disturbances, with a strong low-pressure system approaching the Vestfjords, bringing gusty winds from the southwest across northern Vestfjords and the Strandir region. Wind speeds could reach 28-32 m/s in the afternoon, with severe weather conditions likely or full-blown storms expected, including gusts exceeding 50 m/s. In the western part of Skagafjörður and Eyjafjörður, very strong and turbulent winds are also anticipated, particularly in the afternoon, with speeds of 23-28 m/s.
