East Iceland Police extend custody for two men linked to separate criminal cases in Neskaupstaður and Vopnafjörður

The East Iceland Police have extended custody for two men involved in separate ongoing criminal cases in the region. One of the men has been in custody since August 22, suspected of murdering an elderly couple in Neskaupstaður. The second man is in custody, having been ordered in October, under suspicion of assaulting his former cohabitant in Vopnafjörður.

According to Kristján Ólafs Guðjónsson, a chief police officer in East Iceland, both investigations are expected to conclude by the end of the month. The outcomes of these cases remain closely monitored as authorities work to gather all necessary evidence.
