Telia, the telecommunications company, has announced the conclusion of its restructuring discussions initiated in September. According to a statement, the negotiations will result in the reduction of approximately 500 jobs in Finland, with an estimated 45 new positions potentially being created. Around 160 employees will transition from Telia Company to Telia Finland.

Heli Partanen, the CEO of Telia Finland, emphasized the significant impact of these changes on individuals, noting, “Changes of this scale are incredibly challenging for all parties involved, especially as they affect the roles of many colleagues. However, the reforms are essential for creating a faster, simpler, and more efficient Telia.”

The negotiation process involved 3,149 employees. Telia currently employs around 4,000 individuals in Finland and serves nearly 4.5 million connection customers.
