Three men arrested following assaults on security personnel in Vantaa
The Eastern Uusimaa police are investigating three incidents involving assaults on security personnel that occurred over the past weekend. All incidents took place in Vantaa during the night on Saturday.
In the first case, three men are suspected of assaulting restaurant security staff in Tikkurila. The situation escalated after security personnel removed a man from the restaurant. The man then used a pepper spray against the security staff and attempted to flee. Two other men arrived to assist him, resulting in multiple assaults on the security team. The situation ultimately developed into a brawl involving around ten people, prompting several police units to respond. Authorities managed to apprehend three men involved in the assaults.
In a second incident, security personnel were attempting to remove a man from another restaurant due to his behavior. According to police, the man resisted removal and reportedly threatened to shoot the security staff four times. Crime inspector Krista Vallila stated that the man was placed in police custody.
In the third incident, a man in his twenties is suspected of attacking a security guard at Punamultatori in Myyrmäki. A small quantity of suspected narcotics was found in his possession, and he was also taken into police custody.
Vallila confirmed that the security staff involved in these incidents sustained only bruises and minor injuries. A range of criminal offenses were recorded in connection with these incidents, including assaults, illegal threats, and resistance against the security personnel.
