An international air defense exercise will take place in Lohtaja from November 12 to 21, as announced by the Army Command. In addition to domestic troops, air defenders from the United States, Sweden, and Norway will participate in the event, which is considered the most significant drill for air defense forces.
The exercise will be conducted in two phases. The first phase, running from November 12 to 16, involves live-fire exercises using ground forces’ air defense weapons and air-to-air fire from the air force. The second phase, taking place from November 17 to 21, will focus on defensive operations.
Approximately 1,300 fighters are expected to participate, along with 450 vehicles, 20 aircraft, two helicopters, and drone assets from both the Army and Air Force.
