Johnny Madsen remembered by Lars Lilholt after passing in Aalborg

Johnny Madsen, known for his collaborations with the supergroup Dalton alongside fellow musicians Allan Olsen and Lars Lilholt, has passed away, leaving a significant impact on those who knew him. Lars Lilholt, clearly emotional, reflected on his late friend while en route to a performance in Aalborg.

“It wasn’t unexpected, but I was saddened. We were friends for 45 years,” Lilholt shared. He characterized Johnny Madsen as a generous person with whom he always enjoyed spending time. However, a sense of regret lingers with him.

“I never got to say goodbye,” he admitted. Lilholt explained that due to his own health issues, it had been about a year since they last spoke. When asked what message he would have liked to convey to Madsen, he simply said, “That I loved him.”

Despite the loss of his friend and colleague, Lars Lilholt is set to perform at Skråen in Aalborg tonight, where he plans to open the show with the Dalton song “kun ganske lidt.”
