The talent competition Skrekk took place this evening, showcasing numerous young performers from various schools. Hagaskóli and Breiðholtsskóli advanced with their distinct performances.
Students from Hagaskóli presented a piece titled “Stingum Af,” addressing the issue of climate change. Their performance envisioned a future Iceland where the climate has become so cold that it is no longer habitable.
The Breiðholtsskóli participants focused on the rapid pace of modern life in their act, “Hraði lífsins,” which depicted twin brothers living vastly different lives. While one struggled, the others were too preoccupied to notice his plight.
There are three preliminary rounds in total, with eight to nine schools competing in each. A jury selects two acts to progress from each preliminary, while two additional schools can advance through a “jury card.” This means that eight schools will compete in the grand finale set for November 11, broadcasting live on RÚV.
The next preliminary round is scheduled for tomorrow, November 5, which will be streamed live on ruv.is and ruv.is/ungruv.
