Icelandic government approves grant for translation of sagas into German
The Icelandic government has approved a grant of ten million krónur for the translation of the Icelandic sagas into German. The funding will be allocated to Sögur Publishing, which has previously published translations of the sagas in English, Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish. Johann Sigurðsson has overseen these publications. Work on the German translation has been ongoing for the past few years, and it is set to be released next year, according to a response from the Ministry of Culture and Business.
