An extraordinary trial is set to begin on Tuesday at the District Court of North Savo, where 20 individuals face charges of aggravated drug offenses. The main hearing has been scheduled for a total of 17 days, with proceedings expected to continue until December 10.

Aggravated drug offenses are committed when the crime, taken as a whole, is deemed severe, particularly involving dangerous substances or large quantities of drugs. The offense criteria can also be met if the crime is aimed at achieving significant financial gain, poses serious risks to multiple individuals, or if the perpetrator is a member of an organized group.

Convictions for aggravated drug offenses carry a minimum sentence of one year and can extend up to ten years in prison.
