Authorities investigate violent assault involving youths in Perniö, Salo
Authorities are investigating a severe act of violence that occurred over the weekend during a party organized by youths in Perniö, Salo. According to the police statement, four young men and a child under the age of 15 are suspected of brutally assaulting a young man.
The police received reports of the incident around 3 a.m. on the night between Friday and Saturday. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the victim with injuries consistent with violence.
“There was a particular level of brutality and cruelty in the act. The victim’s injuries are serious,” stated Jukka Kyynäräinen, the crime commissioner leading the investigation.
The suspects fled the scene in a personal vehicle. Police managed to apprehend them later that night, arresting four men in their twenties on suspicion of aggravated assault. Additionally, the driver of the vehicle is being investigated for driving under the influence.
Over the weekend, all four suspects were arrested. The involvement of the child under 15 is being examined as part of the preliminary investigation.
The Southwest Finland police continue to look into the matter but have stated that they will not provide further information about the ongoing investigation.
