Motorcyclists gathered at Korputorg last night to protest the lack of accountability for a fatal accident that occurred on the Vesturlandsvegi in Kjalarnes in 2020. Two people died in a collision between a motorcycle and a motorhome. Following the accident, it was revealed that the new asphalt laid on the road section was overly slippery and did not meet requirements.
In order to draw attention to their cause, the group drove from Korputorg to the headquarters of the Road Administration in Suðurhraun. Protester Atli Már Jóhannsson said it was unacceptable that such a serious incident could occur without anyone being held accountable.
