The hunting season for rabbits begins tomorrow in the Faroe Islands. Hunting is allowed from November 2 to December 31, inclusive.
Rabbits may only be hunted during daylight hours on weekdays, and only high-caliber rifles are permitted for this activity.
According to the report “Rabbit Hunting in the Faroe Islands 2023,” prepared by biologist Eyðfinn Magnussen, a total of 5,300 rabbits were registered as hunted last year. The population of rabbits was recorded at 556 in 264 designated hunting areas.
