One person dies in traffic accident in Sastamala, Finland

One person died in a traffic accident in Sastamala, Finland, on Wednesday around noon. The incident occurred at the intersection of Pohjanmaantie and Yhdystie. Involved in the accident were a heavy vehicle combination and a three-wheeled moped car. The driver of the moped car, who was elderly, died at the scene.

According to a preliminary investigation by the police, the driver of the moped car turned left at the intersection, directly into the path of a logging truck. The road was closed to traffic for over two hours. According to the Finnish Traffic Centre, Fintraffic, the situation was resolved by 2:45 PM. The road at the accident site has since been reopened, and traffic is now flowing normally.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
