Trump’s potential return to presidency raises concerns for Bakkafrost exports to United States

If Donald Trump returns to the presidency in the United States, it could create challenging circumstances for companies, particularly those not manufacturing their products in the U.S. Regin Jacobsen, CEO of Bakkafrost, has expressed concern over what appears to be a trend of deglobalization, where large countries are becoming increasingly less interconnected in terms of trade.

Last year, approximately 20-25% of Bakkafrost’s exports were sold in the American market, amounting to around two billion Danish krone. Should Trump regain the White House and proceed with his plan to raise tariffs to 10%, as he has indicated during his election campaign, this would significantly impact the company.

The American presidential election is scheduled for November 5.
