Serious traffic accident on Reykjanesbraut highway near Straumsvík aluminum plant in Iceland

A serious traffic accident occurred this morning on the Reykjanesbraut highway, resulting in three vehicles colliding at around 8 AM near the Straumsvík aluminum plant. All involved drivers were traveling alone and were subsequently taken to the emergency room. One individual sustained severe injuries.

The Reykjanesbraut was closed for a period following the incident. According to the Capital Area Fire Department, traffic was allowed to resume on the highway around 8:30 AM.
