Sandship expands fleet with fifth cargo ship in Fuglafjørður

Sandship in Fuglafjørður has acquired its fifth cargo ship. The vessel, built in the Netherlands in 2001, has a carrying capacity of 3,000 tons.

The company has decided to expand its fleet due to the rising demand for shipping services abroad. Jørgin Jacobsen, the managing director of Sandship, stated that the newly purchased vessel is in excellent condition.

Before it sets sail early next year, the ship will be converted into a self-unloading vessel. It will be registered under the Faroese international ship registry.
