An error occurred during a news broadcast involving the Central Party’s candidate list in the Northeast electoral district, where the wrong photograph was shown. The image displayed was of Ágústa Guðmundsdóttir, a substitute member of the Independence Party, instead of Ágústa Ágústsdóttir, who is the intended candidate listed third for the Central Party.

Ágústa Guðmundsdóttir reached out to the news desk last night after receiving numerous calls and messages from friends and acquaintances questioning whether she had switched parties. She clarified that she remains with the Independence Party, which recently published its candidate list featuring her in the tenth position for the South Reykjavík district.

Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the Parliament’s official website incorrectly lists an image of Ágústa Guðmundsdóttir under the biography of Ágústa Ágústsdóttir. Ágústa Guðmundsdóttir mentioned she had participated in a photo session organized by the Parliament about six months ago, expecting her picture to appear on her biography page. However, this never happened, and the photo was evidently placed incorrectly.

Despite the confusion, she expressed her calmness regarding the incident but intends to contact the Parliament’s office tomorrow to request a correction. Meanwhile, Ágústa Ágústsdóttir only became aware of the mix-up late last night and confirmed that she has not yet participated in any official photo session for the Parliament. As far as she knew, no image was associated with her page on the website.
