Rana Football Club, established in 2017 through a merger of Stålkameratene and Mo IL, has made remarkable progress since launching its top-tier ambitions. The club ascended from the fourth division in its inaugural attempt, and as of now, Rana FK is set to compete in the second division.

In an exciting home match against Byåsen from Trøndelag, Rana FK took the lead within the first 12 minutes, securing a commanding 10-0 victory. The first half ended with a stunning score of 5-0, prompting a satisfied sports director, Jimmy Fjelldalselv, to express his delight with the team’s performance, which showcased energy and skill leading to numerous scoring opportunities.

With this latest win, Rana FK will compete in the second division next year. The fall season also brought the news that IK Junkeren would be relegated to the third division, positioning Rana FK as the second-best football team in Nordland.

The season began on April 7 against Rosenborg 2, resulting in a 2-1 victory. Despite an early cup loss to Junkeren, the team went on to enjoy an impressive 12-match winning streak leading up to the decisive match against Byåsen.

On October 27, the final match against Byåsen saw a full-capacity Sagbakken stadium with 1,200 supporters cheering on Rana FK. The atmosphere was electric as the entire community rallied around the club, eagerly anticipating a celebratory event. Sports director Fjelldalselv expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the communal joy that comes with achieving such a significant milestone.
