Finland transitions to standard time as daylight saving period concludes

Sunday 27th October 2024 on 03:53 in Finland

Finland transitioned to standard time today as the seven-month period of daylight saving time came to an end. Clocks were set back one hour at 4 a.m.

In 2018, the European Commission proposed to eliminate the biannual clock changes across the EU. However, the original timeline for this proposal has not materialized, and discussions within the EU Council have stalled for the time being.

Notably, countries like Iceland, Russia, India, and China do not observe daylight saving time at all.
