Quarter of population plans to celebrate Halloween in Sweden

A quarter of the population is planning to celebrate Halloween this year. This statistic emerged from a recent poll conducted by Prósents, revealing that among respondents, 64% stated they do not intend to celebrate Halloween, while 11% were unsure. Of those with a definitive stance, 28% plan to join in the festivities, a slight increase from last year’s 26%.

Interestingly, the likelihood of celebrating Halloween increases with the number of children respondents have. Specifically, only 13% of individuals without children at home plan to celebrate the holiday, compared to 83% of those with three or more children. Among those with one child, 37% plan to celebrate, and this figure rises to 59% for those with two children.

When it comes to how people will observe Halloween, the majority, at 62%, intend to dress in costumes. Additionally, 54% plan to carve pumpkins, while 53% will welcome trick-or-treaters. Half of the respondents will decorate indoors, and an equal percentage will go door-to-door with their children.

As Halloween approaches, it seems that family dynamics play a significant role in the enthusiasm for this quirky holiday.
