Iceland appoints Friðrik Jónsson as ambassador to Ukraine in Kyiv ceremony

Friðrik Jónsson has officially presented his credentials as Iceland’s ambassador to Ukraine, delivering the documents to President Volodymyr Zelensky today. This ceremony took place alongside the new ambassadors from Finland, Brazil, Ireland, Montenegro, and Lithuania.

Since the summer, Friðrik has served as Iceland’s ambassador to Poland, which also oversees diplomatic relations with Ukraine, Romania, and Bulgaria. His appointment comes at a time when diplomatic ties are crucial in a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape.
