Ewa Skoog Haslum appointed new head of Sweden’s Armed Forces Operations and Efforts
Ewa Skoog Haslum has been appointed as the new head of Sweden’s Armed Forces Operations and Efforts, succeeding Carl-Johan Edström, who has taken on the role of Chief of the Defense Staff and Headquarters. In a statement, Haslum expressed her honor at being entrusted with the leadership of the military’s operations.
She emphasized her strong connection to the navy, stating, “The navy will always hold a special place in my heart, and I carry with me the operational perspective from that experience. However, I now have the responsibility to oversee a comprehensive approach that integrates multiple domains.”
Haslum, who has served as Sweden’s naval chief for the past four years, aims to bring a holistic view to her new position, ensuring that various aspects of defense operations work synergistically.
