Ingilín D. Strøm steps down as Minister of the Environment in Faroe Islands
Ingilín D. Strøm has stepped down as Minister of the Environment and is returning to her seat in the Parliament. This decision leads to Kim Durhuus, her substitute, leaving the parliamentary position.
Ingilín D. Strøm served as the Minister of the Environment for 673 days. The government was formed following the parliamentary elections in December 2022, where Strøm received 787 votes.
In contrast, Kim Durhuus garnered 162 votes in the same elections. Aksel V. Johannesen, the Prime Minister, will handle the responsibilities of Strøm in the government until a new minister is appointed.
If a member of the Social Democrats is elected to the ministerial position, Kim Durhuus will return to the Parliament as a substitute.
The Nordic Council will hold its annual meeting in Reykjavík next week, and therefore, no parliamentary sessions will take place until Monday, November 4.
