During a recent court hearing in Sweden, an incarcerated man was recorded threatening a woman over the phone, stating, “Tell her… her little whore mother, say to her, little slut. If she tries to trick me again… then I will come and shoot you 75 times in the face.” The man faces charges including these threats and conducting a robbery while in custody. Authorities allege that he, alongside others, coerced the woman into paying them 60,000 Swedish kronor via Snapchat and messaging.

The man is linked to the Shottaz, a criminal network known for its involvement in a violent gang war in the Stockholm area. Currently, seven individuals connected to this network are detained by Norwegian police.

In a separate incident involving the same woman, the man allegedly made further threats to her friend while she was in a car with one of the accused, leading her to flee the vehicle. During the conversation, the threats escalated, with the captive claiming, “I told her, wallah, I’m going to kill you. She owes me 40,000.” He later expressed his dissatisfaction stemming from a loan dispute, stating he felt embarrassed and had apologized to the victim.

The defendant’s lawyer acknowledged that the accused had access to a phone in prison but denied knowledge of how he obtained it. This incident highlights the escalating issue of illegal mobile phones in prisons. Recent statistics indicate an over 85% increase in confiscated phones from 2022 to 2023, raising concerns among authorities about the implications for prison security and organized crime.
