Traffic blocked on Tjørnuvíkarvegur due to landslide in Líðini

Traffic is currently blocked on Tjørnuvíkarvegur this morning due to a landslide.

Around 7 AM, the police reported that a landslide has occurred on Tjørnuvíkarvegur, obstructing the road. The landslide is located in Líðini, covering the segment of Tjørnuvíkarvegur that extends from the village up to the flat area about halfway up from Tjørnuvík.

Authorities announced that the Public Works Department has been notified and is on their way to the site with machinery to clear the debris.

Additionally, there has been substantial wind overnight; however, the police have not received any reports of damage.
