Vopnafjörður invites visitors for a fun-filled weekend at the Vopnaskak festival
The residents of Vopnafjörður, a town in east Iceland, are inviting visitors to their local festival, Vopnaskak, this weekend. The festival is expected to take place in pleasant twenty-degree weather, attracting many guests to the eastern town.
The Vopnaskak festival in Vopnafjörður will have a packed schedule this year, including major concerts in the town center. “Our program at Vopnaskak is in full swing now, with bouncy castles for children and major concerts in the square. It all ends with Burstafell Day at Burstafell, where the museum comes to life. We have so much going on this weekend. The weather is fantastic, twenty plus degrees, so I think everyone should come to Vopnafjörður. There is something for everyone here, so everyone is welcome,” says Íris Edda Jónsdóttir, one of the organizers of Vopnaskak.
