Children discover body in tent in Rovaniemi, Lapland

Last Tuesday, children playing in Rovaniemi discovered a body. According to the Lapland police, the body was found in a tent located in a wooded area near the city center. Reports indicate that the discovery was made in the Mäkiranta area.

The police were alerted to the situation by the parents of one of the children involved. Authorities do not suspect foul play related to the death and are treating the case as a matter for determining the cause of death.

Last week, Lapland was enjoying autumn holidays, which has led to discussions among students at Ounasvaara School, where two primary school children who found the body are enrolled. On Monday evening, the school sent a message to parents via the Wilma communication platform, suggesting that the deceased may have been living in the tent for some time, as there were personal belongings inside.
