A man in his thirties has been charged with attempted murder stemming from a stabbing incident in February 2021. The prosecution alleges that he attacked another man, stabbing him in the abdomen with a knife in an effort to kill him.

The victim sustained an open stab wound to the abdominal wall, with a ten-centimeter section of his intestine protruding from the injury.

The prosecutor is seeking a conviction for the accused and demands that he be held responsible for all legal costs incurred during the proceedings. Additionally, there is a request for the defendant to pay two million Icelandic krónur in damages to the victim, along with any fees owed to the legal guardian, unless these are covered by the state.
