Kongsberg Maritime has secured a significant contract to supply equipment for ten new platform supply vessels, valued at 800 million kroner. This deal represents one of the largest supply contracts in the company’s history. The vessels will be constructed in China by Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding for the Greek shipowner Capital Offshore.

Kongsberg Maritime’s President, Lisa Edvardsen Haugan, expressed pride in the contract, stating that this significant investment underscores Capital Offshore’s ambition to play a major role in future offshore operations. She also highlighted the importance of their longstanding collaboration with Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding on this exciting project.

Kongsberg will provide key components, including propulsion, automation, and energy systems for the new ships. Capital Offshore aims to expand its presence in the oil and gas market, and Kongsberg’s equipment will support this new initiative for the platform supply vessels.

Haugan noted the advantages of opting for Kongsberg’s integrated solutions for propulsion, dynamic positioning, automation, and electrical systems, emphasizing that Capital Offshore will benefit from increased fuel efficiency and lower operational costs.

Kongsberg Maritime is part of the larger Kongsberg group, which reported a total revenue of 40.6 billion kroner in 2023.
