Police increase presence ahead of Rosenborg versus Brann match in Trondheim
On Saturday night, a significant police presence was observed in Midtbyen, Trondheim, following several ongoing confrontations between football supporters of Rosenborg and Brann. The police had to deploy tear gas to prevent violence and keep the rival supporter groups apart, according to the police operations leader. A few individuals were taken into custody, but no injuries were reported. The Trøndelag police described the supporters’ behavior as unacceptable during the incidents.
In anticipation of further clashes, particularly as Rosenborg is set to host Brann on Sunday at Lerkendal Stadium, police have increased their resources for the event. Authorities aim to ensure the safety of all individuals in the area. The match is scheduled to kick off at 14:30 local time on Sunday.
The police plan to maintain a heightened presence during the game to monitor the situation closely.
