Contestants face disturbing culinary challenge in Amazing Race Finland episode filmed in Bucharest
In the latest episode of “Amazing Race Finland,” contestants faced a particularly challenging task: consuming pig brains and ram testicles. For some participants adhering to a vegan diet, this proved to be too much to handle. The reality television series involves competing pairs traveling around the globe and completing various tasks.
In an episode filmed in Bucharest, contestants were first required to prepare dishes featuring ram testicles and pig brains, which were assessed by a local culinary expert to ensure they were properly cooked. Next, one contestant had to eat an entire plate of the prepared dish, but they were locked in a separate area before the task details were revealed.
Adeliina Arajuuri, a vegan for 15 years, expressed her distress, stating, “When it came to the eating part, it almost broke the camel’s back. Those soft brains, I tried to just meditate myself somewhere else.” During the task, she forced herself to eat while gagging and covering her mouth, appearing tearful with a runny nose and eyes.
Another contestant, Mimosa Willamo, along with her partner Patrick, had an advantage that allowed them to skip the task. “You can whip this washboard as much as you want, but not in a way that a vegan has to try two large meat portions,” she commented, patting her stomach.
Unfortunately, the dish became a downfall for Maria Nyqvist, who said, “I can’t. I don’t eat meat at all.” She chose not to eat the dish and incurred a time penalty with her partner Jani Sievinen, ultimately leading to their elimination.
Petra Martikainen, a producer from Moskito Television, explained that the planning process for tasks is extensive and considers various perspectives with local teams. Contestants are aware that their beliefs may conflict with the cultures and food practices of the countries they visit, and each competitor decides whether to participate based on these discussions.
