Two individuals hospitalized after fire at Stuðlar treatment center in Reykjavík

Two individuals were taken to the emergency department of Landspítali after a fire broke out in a room at the treatment center Stuðlar early this morning. The fire was reported shortly before 7 AM. A fire chief from the Greater Reykjavík Fire Department stated that the fire has been extinguished, and firefighters were completing smoke ventilation efforts. The emergency call was received at 6:42 AM, and extinguishing the flames proceeded effectively despite considerable smoke production. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Information regarding the condition of those transported to the emergency department has not been released.
