Negotiations conclude with significant differences remaining in Icelandic teachers’ salary disputes

The negotiations between teacher representatives regarding salary disputes have concluded just before noon. Another meeting on the matter is scheduled for Monday. Magnús Þór Jónsson, chairman of the Icelandic Teachers’ Association, indicated that significant differences still remain between the parties involved. Additionally, he pointed out that there is a certain waiting game underway due to the stance of the Association of Icelandic Municipalities, which has taken the Teachers’ Association to labor court.
