Finnish pop music icon Kristiina Ronimus passes away at 56

Kristiina Ronimus, a notable figure in Finnish pop music, has passed away at the age of 56 on October 16. Iltalehti has confirmed her death through official sources. Ronimus was a talented songwriter who composed songs for renowned artists such as Katri Helena, Arja Koriseva, Paula Koivuniemi, Eino Grön, and Heidi Kyrö.

Her musical career began at a young age, and she first gained prominence as a performer in Frederik’s show, where she appeared as Mary Hopkin. Additionally, she collaborated with Sammy Babitsin as a singing child mannequin. Ronimus released her debut album, “Humppatytöt,” in 1978, marking the start of her own performing career.

Her contributions to the Finnish music scene and her collaborations with various artists have solidified her legacy in the industry.
