Four-car collision causes major traffic disruption on Hämeenlinnanväylä near Vantaa

A four-car collision occurred on Hämeenlinnanväylä during rush hour on Friday afternoon, significantly disrupting commuter traffic heading north from Helsinki. The accident took place around 3:35 PM, approximately one kilometer north of the Keimolanportti in Vantaa on National Road 3.

The chain-reaction collision involved two passenger cars and two vans, carrying a total of five adults. Fortunately, all individuals were able to exit their vehicles independently. Emergency responders assessed their conditions on-site, but no one required transport for further medical care.

Fire services worked quickly to clear and clean the accident scene, where various damages were reported to the vehicles. At least one car had to be towed away from the site.

Traffic was severely congested in the area, with vehicles being redirected by police through a single lane past the accident location. The clearance operation lasted approximately an hour, and authorities are currently investigating the causes of the collision.
