Man detained after attacking hotel staff in Reykjavik while firefighters respond to minor fire in Hafnarfjörður

A man who attacked hotel staff in central Reykjavik is currently in custody while authorities assess the situation. Security personnel at the hotel restrained the individual before the police arrived at the scene, according to local police reports.

Firefighters responded to a small fire in a container in the Vallahverfi district of Hafnarfjörður, which was categorized as minor. Police were also dispatched to two stores in the western part of the city due to reports of shoplifting. These incidents were managed on site.

Additionally, police received a report of fireworks being shot off in a suburban area of Kópavogur; however, no individuals were found upon investigation.
