Kári Johansen withdraws from Progress Party list ahead of Tórshavn elections

Kári Johansen, a city council candidate in Tórshavn, who previously announced his intention to run for the Progress Party in the local elections on November 12, has already removed himself from the party’s list. This information has been confirmed by Ruth Vang, chairwoman of the Progress Party.

In a statement to a local news outlet, she indicated that Johansen had taken himself off the party’s list in recent days.

On September 7, Johansen had originally declared his decision to join the Progress Party’s list, citing issues with “the atmosphere within the Social Democratic Party”.

Local media are attempting to obtain comments from Kári Johansen regarding his departure from the list.
