Police close case against Marius Borg Høiby in Oslo scooter theft investigation
The police have announced that they are closing the case in which Marius Borg Høiby was reported for allegedly stealing a scooter, stating that no criminal activity has been proven. The victim has been informed of the decision and has the option to appeal. Høiby’s lawyer, Øyvind Bratlien, has criticized the public portrayal of the case, urging those who have commented to reflect on their words. He believes Høiby is undergoing a form of witch hunt, where negative narratives about him are propagated without critical examination.
In the past few weeks, Høiby has been questioned multiple times by police. While current interrogations have concluded, authorities do not rule out further questioning in the ongoing investigations. Oslo police have recently looked into additional alleged violations of a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, stating they have received information about potential new breaches.
Høiby is currently facing charges of violence, vandalism, threats, and reckless behavior against the same woman, as well as threats against another individual. Although he admits guilt for some accusations, such as violence and vandalism, he denies the charges of domestic abuse against his former partners.
Recently, Høiby claimed in police interviews that he himself has been a victim of abuse by his ex-girlfriend, which has not yet been formally reported. His ex-girlfriend categorically denies his allegations, according to her legal representation.
