Company restructures amid financial challenges in Sweden’s restaurant industry

Founded in 2017, the company operates around 70 restaurants across the country and employs approximately 500 people. The purpose of the restructuring is to “ensure the long-term financial stability of the group.” The company notes that recent challenges, including the pandemic, significant inflation, and rising rents, have altered the conditions for both its operations and the restaurant industry as a whole.

Despite extensive measures taken to address these issues—such as divesting unprofitable restaurants, renegotiating supplier contracts, streamlining staffing, and launching a loyalty program—the financial situation has unfortunately become unsustainable, stated CEO Richard Forsshéll.
