The municipal council of Tvøroyri is firmly maintaining its decision to grant Varðanum Pelagic permission to expand its operations in Tvøroyri by extending the port area to the east.

On Monday, the council reviewed a consultation document from the nature conservation committee in the Suðuroy region. The committee is currently processing the building permit application from Varðanum Pelagic in Tvøroyri.

The initial permit, which was issued over ten years ago, was granted in accordance with legislation that is no longer in effect. The nature conservation committee is addressing the matter today.

The administration of Tvøroyi municipality emphasizes that all building permits granted to Varðanum Pelagic comply with the law on urban planning and building regulations.
